Players participating in U7 Division can anticipate at least one scheduled practice/game per week (typically Saturday) and some additional Sundays.

Evaluations are used to establish fair and equal teams. Once sessions have taken place, participants will be assigned to teams and rosters will be posted to our website.
Evaluation ice times will be available on the website under the appropriate category heading.  It is recommended that players confirm session times 24 hours prior to ensure they have the most current information.

Intro to Hockey U9

All U9 (2016-2015 birth year) Players are also assigned to a Servus Credit Union Preskate Session - held prior to Evaluations
Details will be added under the U9 Category tab once available.

Players participating in U9 Division can anticipate at least one scheduled weekday practice and one weekend half ice game per week.
Teams may attend up to 4 tournaments/festivals over the course of the season.

Competitive Divisions (City League U11-U15)

U11, U13  and U15  City League evaluation Sessions will be held around the week of October 1st. Teams will be drafted that week and first practices will follow.
All players who have registered for City League Hockey and did not tryout for an Elite level are invited to attend the Servus Credit Union Preskate session held the last week in September (times and groups can be found on the home page after Sept 20).

Teams will be drafted after evaluations are complete and rosters will be posted on the website under the division tab with the first practice time.

Details will be added under the appropriate Category Heading once available.

Competitive Divisions (CAHL U18)

U18 B Evaluations will be conducted once the majority of releases have been made from higher divisions. Participants will attend 1 scrimmage session and rosters will be selected. The number of teams hosted is a direct function of the number of registrants. In the event that there is a surplus of goalies, releases may be required.

Elite & High Performance Divisions (U11 HADP, AA, AAA, Tiered Hockey)

Tryouts are conducted for players enrolled in the Elite & High Performance divisions.
Players not successful in making a AAA will be added to AA Tryout sessions or released back to their home association if not residing in the Red Deer Service Area.

Ice is blocked and plans are created according to number of players enrolled for each level of play. Players wishing to move to a higher division after initial registration, should contact the office to determine if space is available.

Sessions are used to determine the registrants ability to play at the desired level. Players are responsible for checking the website for assigned ice times.
All correspondence will happen via the website, no phone calls will be made.
It is strongly recommended that players confirm ice times 24 hours prior to ensure they have the most current information.
Players who have registered for Elite hockey, but are not selected to play at the desired division will be added to the City league evaluation groups as release are made from AA and A.

Details will be added under the appropriate Category Heading once available.
