Affiliation Request Process - 2025-2026 Season

Players can be affiliated to multiple teams of different Divisions, but only 1 tiered team.   

Affiliates can play only 10 games unless their seasaon is completed.  

Eligibility & Timing

• AAA / AA Teams:

  • May begin submitting Affiliation Requests after October 5th.

  • Requests submitted before this date will not be reviewed unless it is an emergency and is approved by the GM.

  • No requests from team participating in tiering round will be approved until after their tiering is completed.  (Emergency consideration only.
  • Always ensure you are following your league’s process for using affiliates.

• Tiered (A, B, or C) Teams:

  • No affiliation requests until after tiering is completed.

  • If there are more than two teams in the same tier, any requests will be reviewed together and distributed as evenly as possible if identical requests are submitted.

  • Any affiliation from outside of CAHL must be submitted by RDMH to CAHL for approval.
  • Always ensure you are following your league’s process for using affiliates.

Emergency Requests

If you have an urgent need for an affiliate before the general submission period:

1. Complete the Online Affiliation Request Form.

2. Clearly mark it as “Emergency Request.”

3. Include the date of the game and a brief explanation of the situation (e.g., illness, injury, goalie shortage, etc.).

4. Emergency requests will be reviewed based on the following needs. (Team is short 3 players or more.)

Submission Process

1. Refer to the Affiliation Tool to confirm what level can affiliate to.  

2. Click here, Online Affiliation Request Form 

3. Ensure all fields are completed, including:

   • Requesting Team Division, Level and Sponsor Name 

   • Player Name & Current Team

   • Coach/Manager Contact Information

   • Emergency request you must include the Date(s) of Intended Game(s) and Reason for the request

4. Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by the RDMH office.

5. You will receive an updated roster once the affiliates have been approved and added.

   • Do not use the player until you have a copy of your roster with them on it and you have followed your league’s rules for using an affiliate.
